The young family financial example:
Sophie wants to spend more time at home with her young family rather than paying high nursery fees whilst she works. She has always dreamed of being her own boss, loves to socialise and enjoys encouraging others to get involved in fun activities. She purchases a Photopod.
Therefore, after looking at competition in her area, she sets her price at £495 for four hours. First of all she asks all her friends on Facebook to pass on her details to friends getting married. Soon enough she’s secured her first wedding booking on a Saturday afternoon and sets off in her car to the venue.
The Photopod is a huge success and other bookings follow. In four months she’s had 10 bookings equalling £4,950. She’s now covered the cost of The Photopod and secured 25 more bookings for the next six months, plus she gets to see her family in the week, and they get to see their grandparents on weekends.
The following year, she is booked on average two days a week, including corporate events, generating £51,480 income. That’s over 13x her initial outlay, in two years, working just two days a week.
